This is a simple 360° animation of my 3D sculpture of Jedi Master Kit Fisto. Made in Sculptris, lightsaber modeled in trueSpace, rendered in Keyshot. This flash animation was made in SwishMAX.

Edit: I added the full body shot render to the left. Originally I had only included the medium shot render.

I remember you mentioned you were working on this guy. He looks great! The lightsaber certainly provides another cool and unusual colored light source for your render and, as usual, it's very effective. Your recent work has gotten me interested in trying to paint with more light sources that aren't white. The results have been mixed at best but it's interesting. :D

It's neat that you gave a shiny/wet look to his tentacle-dreadlocks-things. I remember seeing this guy in the prequel movies and thinking he had a neat character design. But when I thought about it a little more, I realized that swinging what's essentially a laser through the air with floppy, flailing appendages (that can presumably feel pain) attached to your head may not be the best idea in the universe...

Any plans to do other SW characters?

Thanks :D and for the :+fav: To think I was reluctant to have these turntable thingies here, this one's getting more attention (or at least more comments) than the main deviation :)

Actually, I've temporarily scrapped the guy with the actual dreadlocks I was working on, but he'll return when I decide I'm ready for "more human" Jedi :P That one's my favorite characters and I wanted to have him this May the 4th, but he wasn't coming along the way I wanted. And I always loved Fisto too, he certainly was in my plans and it felt right to open a series with a green guy, having launched my Disney villains series with a green lady. I make that kind of weird connections sometimes :P So I put master Vos on hold and sculpted Kit Fisto from scratch in 4 days. That's a record for me :XD:

I wouldn't worry as much about the tentacles on while he's on land, but when he's in his element... :O I remember the original Clone Wars' (2D, Tartakovsky's) episode when he fights under water. I'd like to recreate that scene someday, it was cool to see a lightsaber under the water, even in that cartoony style, I kept thinking the tentacles could very easily float in the way of the laser blade :P

I've always been fond of adding colored local lights, even when it's not always very realistic. But I'm rarely going for realism anyway :P I like how it enhances 3D models, and textures when I have them.

And yes, I will make more SW characters. Master Fisto here is the first in my new Jedi Masters series, and I intend to make a similar Dark Lords of the Sith series (I already made the logos/icons for my subgalleries), and possibly a Bounty Hunters series in the future :D maybe I'd even do a Droids or ships series if I was any good at hard surface modeling :P

Thanks :) I like and always try to have those little details and touches. If you mute the music, you'll be able to better hear the lightsaber's hum :P
